MISSION STATEMENT

The Disability Ministry of Lakeview Baptist Church seeks to enfold families affected by disability into the life of our church so that they may love the Lord, participate in meaningful worship, experience genuine fellowship, and serve the church through their unique giftings. We believe in making the Gospel accessible to all in word and deed because we believe that God has made all in His image and desires to know them in a personal, saving relationship through Jesus Christ.

Super Stars Enrichment Day

Super Stars Sunday school class members are being offered an Enrichment Day from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Fridays during the school year. This is an opportunity for class members to enjoy Christian fellowship, grow spiritually, share in ministry, and grow in daily life skills. To be one of our 2 required volunteers each week to help our teacher and aide, contact kparten@lakeviewbaptist.org. No special skills or training required. See the link below for more information about our volunteers!

ABOUT

Thank you for your interest in our Super Stars Enrichment Day! Our Super Stars are a beloved class at Lakeview, who add so much to our church body. Hence, our church wanted to give them some extra time each week to be together, grow, and serve in our church and community.
Who are the Super Stars? They are our adult Sunday school class for those with differing abilities.
What is our Super Stars Enrichment Day: It is a once/week class for our Super Stars to enjoy Christian fellowship, grow spiritually, share in ministry and grow in daily life skills.
1 Corinthians 12:22-23a | On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor.

THE STAFF

For the 2024-2025 school year,  Jackie Ryals will be leading the class each week and her husband,  John Ryals,  will continue as the faithful aide and field trip planner.

VOLUNTEERS

The LBC leadership requires 2 volunteers for each week, alongside our teacher/aide.

Volunteers must be 19 years or older, must have completed a LBC background check, and have a willing heart. No special training required!  Arrive at 8:45 and stay until 1:00.

Volunteers will have an opportunity before the class begins to talk with the teacher and see what all will be needed that day. The biggest weekly helps are just your presence, sitting with the participants, engaging them and participating in the class.

Volunteers should wear comfortable, modest clothes and comfortable shoes – the Super Stars like to go for walks around the LBC grounds and sometimes on field trips.
If you would like to volunteer, email kparten@lakeviewbaptist.org and she will send you information for a background check (if needed) and the Sign Up Genius link to sign up!
