What is Fuel Weekend?
FUEL Weekend is an event geared towards discipleship, relationship, worship, and service. Students gather together for worship services, and then split into small groups based on gender and age. Each group will stay in a host home, led by a small group leader who will guide numerous lessons throughout the weekend. We want our students to dig deeper into their relationship with Jesus, and be transformed by His Spirit towards greater joy and faithfulness.
Meet The Team
Each year, we bring in some friends of Lakeview to help us encounter the Lord in His word and proclaim His glory through singing.
Ryan and his wife, Haley, have been married for 7.5 years and have two beautiful daughters, Adalyn and Lucy. Ryan currently serves as the Pastor of Families and Discipleship at Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. Prior to Calvary Baptist, Ryan was one of our Pastoral Interns at Lakeview and also served at Bridge Community Church in NYC. With his life, Ryan loves to walk with Jesus and bring others alongside him in disciple-making. Ryan enjoys hanging out with his family, good coffee, good food, running, a good book, and the like. He is looking forward to spending time with our Middle and High School Students for FUEL 2025!
Daniel Murphy has been leading in musical worship for more than a decade, and is passionate about leading congregations to sing beautiful and true songs as they engage with God. Daniel serves as associate pastor at Stapleton Baptist Church, and is a graduate of Troy University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Daniel and his wife, Emily, have four children, and live in Loxley, Alabama.

Included within this cost is all food, transportation, and lodging for the weekend as well as a t-shirt!
There is a discount for multi-child families. For the second child, it will be $65. For each child following it will cost $50.

We have an opportunity for you to sponsor a student to attend Fuel Weekend which is $75 or you can sponsor the event by donating any amount possible. We are so thankful for the many ways people come alongside us to support our ministry.

Frequently asked questions
My student cannot the full weekend, can he/she still register?
Of course! On the registration form, there will be a spot for you to let us know if your student needs to leave at any point during the weekend. If something arises after you have registered, please contact Camdyn Hillis at chillis@lakeviewbaptist.org.
What if my student has medication or an allergy?
There will be a section on the registration form for you to indicate if your student takes medication or has an allergy. We will ensure your student has the proper accommodations for all meals.
Am I in charge of transportation for my student throughout the weekend?
Leaders and host homes provide transportation throughout the weekend. Parents need to make sure that their students are dropped off on Friday evening and picked up on Sunday following the morning service.
What safety precautions will be taken?
Each leader and host home that works with your student will have completed a background check, as well as an abuse training.
We are unable to afford this event, can my student still attend?
We do not want to let money be a reason your student does not join us for this exciting weekend. If you are in need, please indicate on your registration form “sponsorship.” We are happy to provide full or partial sponsorships depending on the situation.
I am a parent, I would love to help during Fuel Weekend, what are ways I can serve?
There are many ways you can serve throughout the weekend!
We need volunteers to drive students to and from host homes and service projects.
We need volunteers to help with meals.
