Mission

The Food Pantry of Lakeview Baptist Church exists to make, nurture, and equip disciples of Jesus Christ in sharing the gospel by tangibly providing food to those in need across East Alabama.

Schedule

Food Distribution operates on a first-come-first-serve basis and occurs on Mondays from 9-11 AM.

Get Involved

  • There are several ways that you can be involved in this vital mercy ministry of our church:
    • Truck Drivers: We are looking for individuals with full-size trucks that can transport pallets of food from the Food Bank to Lakeview Baptist. Commitment – once or twice a month. Time: Monday mornings from 7:15-8:15 a.m.
    • Distribution: We are looking for individuals who are willing to sit and talk with participants and help them fill out the paperwork. Commitment – once or twice a month. Time: Monday mornings from 8:30-11:15 a.m.

Where: 1600 East Glenn Ave. in Auburn, at the east information center in the church lobby.

Open all other Mondays from 9:00-11:00 AM.

How It Works

Once a year participants will be asked to provide a photo ID and proof of income to verify eligibility* to receive government commodities. At each subsequent visit, participants will be asked to show a photo ID. Households are eligible to receive food once every two months.

  • * Participants need only meet one of the following criteria for households to be eligible:
    • Current enrollment in food assistance through the state of Alabama (SNAP)
    • Current enrollment in aid to families with dependent children (TANF)
    • Current enrollment in Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Current income be at or below the current federal poverty level guidelines
    • Special circumstances (example: fire, loss of job, injury)
