Praise Ministry
Praise and Worship Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. 1 Chronicles 16:23 A Heart of Praise We praise God in our everyday lives through our thoughts, words and actions--anything we do that brings pleasure to God. We are created with a overwhelming need to connect with God, and praise and worship is the expression of our personal relationship with Him. Worship is a lifestyle, not just a one day a week occurrence. Praising God transforms our minds and hearts, and gives us hope, bringing us closer to God. It gives us joy, full satisfaction and victory! If you have a heart full of praise to our God and desire to express it through music, please contact the Praise Ministry at Lakeview at 334.887.7094. John said to the woman at the well in John 4:23-24, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” It’s time for us to drop what hinders us from truly worshipping a holy, righteous and awesome God, who has everything in control, in an authentic, biblical manner. God created us to worship Him. It brings pleasure to God when His children praise Him.
Praise Ministry Opportunities THE CELEBRATION CHOIR: Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm Choir Room/Nursery provided The Celebration Choir is composed of adults who have a true heart for praise and worship. The choir presents seasonal worship experiences as well as leading our congregation to the throne of God every Sunday morning. THE CELEBRATION ORCHESTRA AND PRAISE BAND: If you have a desire to use your gift of instrumental music, then the Celebration Orchestra is the place for you. Those interested in participating in this God honoring ensemble should contact the Praise Ministry at nwit@lakeviewbaptist.org or Jason Smith, Orchestra Director, at jsmith@lakeviewbaptist.org . The Celebration Orchestra is open to anyone high school age or above with prior band or performance experience. PRAISE TEAM MINISTRY: Wednesdays 7:00pm-8:00pm Worship Center or Choir Room The Praise Team Ministry is made up of singers who along with the choir lead in some of the Sunday worship services. Praise Team members must be active in the Celebration Choir. Praise Team members are selected and rotated during the year. Selection for Praise Teams is by interview only. RE:GEN: Sundays 4:00pm-5:00pm Choir Room re:gen is comprised of students in grades 7-12 who desire to learn more about God through music. A variety of music is learned, some with choreography. But, you do not have to dance if you are uncomfortable with it. It is another element of worship that is provided for those who enjoy it. There will be at least one concert that will be presented by re:gen which will include dramas, solos, duets, ensemble, etc. JOYFUL NOISE: Sundays 5:00pm-6:00pm Children’s Department Joyful Noise is compromised of children in grades 1-6 who learn more about Jesus through the different songs that are taught. A spring musical is presented on the 1st Sunday in May each year. |
